Laser line scanning topography and surface geometry analysis algorithm

The laser line scanning topography and surface geometry analysis algorithm corresponds the continuous sections to the coded positions, corners or calibrated postures to form a height map or point cloud, and then analyzes the surface undulations, visible concavities and convexities, assembly height and external dimensions. For tasks requiring area coverage such as electronics, battery shapes, glue paths and logistics dimensions.

Process tasks and input

Splicing the sections one after another and displaying them as a three-dimensional diagram does not mean that the scanning coordinates are correct, nor does it mean that the occluded area has been measured. The algorithm requires synchronization, coordinate fusion, benchmark establishment and planar business evaluation to be jointly established.

Input requirements: Calibrated section with timestamp, coding/corner/attitude, scanning direction and coordinate agreement, workpiece boundary and datum; original missing measurement information is required, and only rendered 3D screenshots cannot be provided.

Functionprocessing contentcurrent base
Scan coordinate fusionEstablish cross-section correspondence according to actual motion and check frame loss, miscoding, axis error and coverage integrity.Scan synchronization and coordinate fusion to be developed
Surface datum and differentialEstablish an agreed reference plane/reference piece, calculate the height difference and cross-state changes, and retain the description of the effects of clamping and rigid body motion. The basics of plane fitting are already available; registration and difference need to be developed
business geometry analysisEstablish independent rules around pin-by-pin height, glue path continuity, external dimensions, or envelope volume, and do not replace measurement definitions with a universal 3D display.Evaluation rules for selected products to be developed

Applicable conditions and boundaries

Applicable tasks: Pin/solder ball height candidate, visible depressions in battery case, glue path analysis, board undulation and package outer envelope measurement.

Invisible internal structure cannot be recovered from finite visible surfaces; planar least squares residuals are not equal to formal minimum area planarity. Robot path planning, hand-eye solving and arbitrary CAD matching are not included as standard features.

Verification basis and delivery scope

Existing foundations include line extraction, cross-section geometry under known calibration conditions and known three-dimensional point plane fitting. Complete scan synchronization, reconstruction, registration and specific product evaluation still need to be developed, and no conclusions on product domain accuracy and tempo have been formed.

Develop input adaptations, synchronized fusions, geometric recipes, point clouds/height maps and result exports in defined linear, rotational or robotic scan formats and verify with independent gauges.

Requirement confirmation information: Provide original section and synchronized position, scanning method, workpiece drawing/datum, complete coverage, independent dimensions and allowable errors.

FAQ

Does the thinner the three-dimensional image mean the higher the actual accuracy?

Not expressed. Interpolation, mesh subdivision, and display resolution do not increase the actual sampling and magnitude basis.

Can you measure the volume of an object?

It is necessary to first clarify the outer envelope, surface differential volume or solid volume, and confirm the coverage, boundary and base; different definitions cannot be mixed.

Enterprise project promotion and acceptance

  1. scope confirmationClarify the objects, workstations, inputs, outputs, units, interfaces and abnormal conditions that must be covered.
  2. Sample verificationUse representative normal and abnormal samples to establish a baseline and record what works, what fails, and data gaps.
  3. Development joint debuggingComplete the algorithm, calibration, interface and equipment adaptation according to the approved scope, and retain the version, parameters and abnormal status.
  4. Item acceptanceUse independent samples and reference value retests to confirm errors, detection, tempo, stability and deliverables respectively.
