When a device brand supplies an SDK, the application team must still confirm the accessible interfaces, device versions and delivery rights. Access to images or parameters does not establish access to drivers, bootloaders, firmware-update mechanisms or source code. Evaluate interface capabilities, licensing and responsibilities separately.

Identify the layer exposed by the SDK

Exposed element Items to confirm Effect on development scope
Images and status Formats, buffers, timing, error states and threading rules Defines image capture wrappers and downstream processing
Parameters and controls Readable and writable items, ranges, units, action sequences and limits Defines configuration tools and supported workflows
Firmware and update interfaces Available calls, applicable models, failures and supplier support Distinguishes update API integration from boot and recovery development
Drivers, protocols and source Availability of documents, code, build environment and modification rights Establishes inputs for lower-level adaptation or changes
Release and distribution Licence terms for binaries, examples, runtime libraries and documents Defines which third-party components may be delivered

Check the actual licence for charges, modification rights and product distribution. This article assumes no brand-specific authorization terms. An official SDK download does not establish third-party developer certification or a partnership.

Define the supported combination in a version matrix

Record the device model, hardware revision, firmware, SDK, OS, processor architecture, driver and operating mode. A successful example on one model is a verification record for that combination. For other models or systems, identify differences, regression checks and the current verification state.

Deliverables and fault responsibilities

Commissioned work can comprise SDK wrappers, configuration tools, applications, driver adaptation or firmware development. Specify source code, libraries, examples, build instructions, API documents and test records for each task. Transfer vendor firmware, third-party libraries and authorization documents under their respective licences. Do not promise complete source for components without delivery rights.

For missing images, failed parameter writes or disconnected devices, agree who supplies the equipment, logs and reproduction conditions and who investigates the adapter, driver or firmware. Features not exposed by the SDK require document and feasibility review; they are not implicitly included in application development.
