Local protocol integration helps locate message-format, state-transition and interface-implementation issues. It checks flows for a specified development version, test counterpart and configuration. Testing compatibility with external products requires the actual products and their software or firmware versions. Changing a product name in a test description does not extend the local result.
Identify counterparts and check objects
State whether the counterpart is a test tool, simulator, internally developed service or external product. Retain roles, versions, parameters and enabled functions. Registration and account authentication are communication steps. Their successful completion is not product certification. Check control-message responses, usable media data and business results separately.

Build a matrix of actual product combinations
For each combination, record products, versions, protocol roles, functions, network conditions and results. Retain failures and tests not executed. After firmware, software-build or feature changes, determine which results remain applicable and retest affected parts. Success for one combination does not establish compatibility with all manufacturers or versions.
Check formal conformance evidence separately
Determine whether the contract requires interoperability records, an external test report or a particular formal declaration process. Then check the document's responsible party, versions and function scope. For example, the ONVIF product database identifies conformance for specific products and versions.
