This review concerns the RK3588 industrial-PC smoke project documented on 2026-08-01. It focuses on inputs and verification records and does not combine test results from later hardware or software branches. The recorded project addressed a fixed camera, a single video input and local-network edge deployment, assessing smoke presence before smoke color.
Recorded inputs and limitations at that stage
| Input | Recorded condition | Verification records to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Scene and video | Fixed camera and single video input | Camera location, image modes and environmental conditions |
| Initial samples | Mainly white and light-gray smoke, with insufficient black-smoke and no-smoke coverage | Original video, classes and sample scope |
| Recognition workflow | Separate smoke-presence and color stages | Model configuration, thresholds and states |
| Output workflow | Local alarm integration | Output conditions, test modes and field states |
These inputs explain the route at that time. They do not demonstrate validation in other scenes. Camera movement, lighting changes or changed sample distributions require review of regions and verification scope.
Uncertain color is not evidence of no smoke
The project treated smoke presence and color validity separately. Its model documentation records the low-light color state as unknown_night. This means that color is uncertain. It is insufficient evidence of no smoke or of completed night-time black-smoke recognition validation.
Separate input, algorithm and output evidence
A connected video input or visible preview establishes only its input state. Algorithm reproduction needs original video, sample scope, model and parameter versions and results for video segments. Output verification also requires output conditions, test-versus-live modes and confirmation of the connected load. A UI screenshot alone is insufficient evidence that the complete application passed acceptance.
Scope of this review
This article adds no new smoke-recognition test, field acceptance or safety-certification conclusion. Existing conclusions remain limited to their recorded versions, samples and field conditions. The project does not replace statutory monitoring equipment, third-party test conclusions or existing safety-control systems.
